Film Chest Proudly Presents "Roger Corman’s Horror Classics: Vol. 1"

Just in Time for Halloween, Three Classic Thrillers

Showcasing the Early Work of Francis Ford Coppola Featuring a Young Jack Nicholson & Boris Karloff
3-DVD Collection in Stores Oct. 29th

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Oct. 1, 2013 — For Immediate Release — Just in time for Halloween comes a three-DVD collection of classic thrillers in Roger Corman’s Horror Classics: Vol. 1, on DVD Oct. 29 from Film Chest Media Group.

Roger Corman is one of the most prolific and successful film producers ever, best known for dozens of cult classics. His ability to find and develop talent is virtually incomparable. With an almost unparalleled influence on modern American cinema, Corman received an Honorary Academy Award for lifetime achievement in 2009.

Restored in HD from the original 35mm prints, come three of his best works, showcasing the early skills of director Francis Ford Coppola and featuring performances by a young Jack Nicholson, Boris Karloff and renowned character actors William Campbell and Dick Miller.

A Bucket of Blood (1959) – which will also enjoy an HD premiere Oct. 25 on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) – tells the torrid tale of a frustrated waiter at a beatnik café who accidentally kills his landlady’s cat.  When he tries to hide the body in plaster, he is mistaken as a brilliant sculptor with more requests for suspiciously lifelike work. Featuring Dick Miller.

In Dementia 13 (1963), a recently widowed woman travels to Ireland, where she finds herself trapped in a creepy, decrepit castle with her ex-husband’s demented family. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Starring William Campbell.

In The Terror (1963), a soldier from Napoleon-era, 19th century France finds that nothing is what it
seems in a ghostly, haunted mansion of death. Co-directed by Roger Corman and Francis Ford Coppola. Starring Jack Nicholson and Boris Karloff.

Roger Corman’s Horror Classics: Vol. 1 is presented in widescreen with an aspect ratio of 16x9 and 5.1 stereo (except A Bucket of Blood, which is mono).
