Lon Chaney Replaces Injured Glenn Strange as the Monster in "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein" (1948) (video)

In this popular Abbott & Costello comedy, Lon Chaney reprises his most famous role, the Wolf Man.

Meanwhile, Glenn Strange makes his third consecutive appearance as the Frankenstein Monster.

But in a climactic scene, Strange breaks his ankle while tossing a stuntwoman through a window.

So Chaney, who hasn't played the Monster since "Ghost of Frankenstein" (1942), gets into the makeup and finishes the scene for Strange.

It's the only time he would play both the Monster and the Wolf Man in the same film.

I neither own nor claim any rights to this material.  Just having some fun with it.  Thanks for watching!
